Metropolitano Stadium to Get New Metro Entrance to Improve Mobility
The Community of Madrid has announced a new Metro access at the Estadio Metropolitano station on Line 7 to improve mobility during matches and major events. The project, with a budget of 9.7 million euros and a 12-month execution period, includes building a 110-meter-long, six-meter-wide access ramp with landscaping, lighting, and drainage. A second lobby of 1,254 square meters will be constructed, featuring 26 control gates, eight escalators, and five elevators to enhance capacity and accessibility. The design is coordinated with the future Ciudad del Deporte development. The station currently handles peaks of up to 18,000 users during events, and the upgrade aims to reduce congestion and waiting times.
