Meta Rolls Out Neural Handwriting and New Features for Ray-Ban Display Glasses
Meta has officially launched several new capabilities for its Ray-Ban Display smart glasses, headlined by the public release of the 'Neural Handwriting' feature. This innovative function allows users to send silent text messages in apps like WhatsApp, Instagram, and Messenger by using subtle finger movements detected by Meta’s Neural Band, offering a discreet communication method reminiscent of spy technology. Previously available only in early access, this feature is now accessible to all users. Alongside this, Meta introduced the ability to record in-lens displays, camera views, and audio into a single video file for easier sharing. The update also expands the availability of walking directions to the entire United States and major international cities including London, Paris, and Rome. Furthermore, Live Captions are now supported on WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram voice DMs. Looking ahead, Meta announced that its AI assistant, Muse Spark, will arrive on the glasses this summer. The company has also opened developer preview access, enabling creators to build web apps and extend mobile applications to the Ray-Ban Display platform, significantly enhancing the device's ecosystem and utility for Android and iPhone users alike.
