Maurício Pereira Releases First Album in Eight Years with Sons Chico and Tim Bernardes

Brazilian singer and composer Maurício Pereira is set to release his first new album in eight years at the end of July 2026. Titled as a follow-up to his 2018 work "Outono no Sudeste," this latest project signifies a artistic rapprochement with a new generation of Brazilian music. The album features significant collaborations with his sons, Tim Bernardes and Chico Bernardes. Chico contributed to compositions, arrangements, co-production, and mixing, while Tim shared songwriting duties, played electric bass, and conducted brass arrangements. The album was produced by Biel Basile, drummer of the band O Terno, and includes an unprecedented partnership with composer Romulo Fróes. Additionally, the traditional São Paulo Carnival group Charanga do França appears on one track. According to Pereira's team, the work deepens his signature observation of everyday life while integrating new sounds and references. The first single from the album is scheduled for release on May 19, 2026. This announcement highlights a familial and generational bridge in the Brazilian music scene, combining Pereira's established career with the contemporary influence of his sons.
