Manchester United and Arsenal in £40 million transfer battle for Alex Scott
Manchester United and Arsenal are competing to sign Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott for a £40 million fee. The 22-year-old England international, who helped Bournemouth secure European football last season, is a target for up to eight clubs including Newcastle, Tottenham, and Everton. Scott's representatives have held talks with both clubs, and a decision is expected within two weeks. Scott reportedly favors a move to Arsenal but is concerned about playing time under Mikel Arteta. Manchester United have already strengthened their midfield with Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos but remain interested, though they will not enter a bidding war. Scott was part of England's pre-World Cup camp under Thomas Tuchel.
