Man in Spider-Man Costume Rescues Wheelchair User from Oncoming Traffic in Arkansas
In Jonesboro, Arkansas, 20-year-old Christopher Hellenthal, still wearing his Spider-Man costume from a superhero event at a trampoline park, rescued a wheelchair user struggling to cross a six-lane road during midday traffic. Hellenthal noticed the man was barely making progress as the traffic light was about to turn green. He jumped out of his red Jeep, ran to the wheelchair user, and pushed him to safety just seconds before vehicles began moving. The moment was captured by a surveillance camera and released by local police on social media, where it quickly went viral with tens of thousands of positive reactions. Hellenthal told the Associated Press he had a ton of adrenaline and thought the situation would be funny given his costume. He said he has always been a big Spider-Man fan. Police thanked him for his quick action.
