Lucas Herbert sets LIV Golf record with dominant win at LIV Golf UK
Australia's Lucas Herbert won the LIV Golf UK event in Staffordshire with a record-setting score of 30 under par, the lowest winning score since the circuit's inception in 2022. The 30-year-old, who finished tied for sixth at the Open at Royal Birkdale the previous week, shot a blemish-free 62 on Sunday to finish six strokes ahead of Tyrrell Hatton and nine ahead of Bryson DeChambeau. Herbert also set LIV records for most birdies in a tournament (30) and most combined birdies and eagles (32). His worst round of the week was a three-under 69 on Saturday. The victory was his second of the LIV season, following a win in Virginia in May. Hatton, who carded a 63 on Sunday, praised Herbert's performance as 'incredible'.
