Legend Hamish Watson Leads Nine Player Departures from Edinburgh Rugby
Edinburgh Rugby has confirmed that nine players will leave the club at the end of the current season, headlined by club legend Hamish Watson. Watson, who has made 181 appearances for the team, is currently on a short-term loan with Leicester Tigers. Joining him in departure is scrum-half Charlie Shiel, who has played 93 times for Edinburgh. The full list of exiting players also includes James Lang, Ben Healy, Sam Skinner, Angus Williams, Ross McCann, and Mikey Jones. Some departures, such as Boan Venter who is moving to the British and Irish Lions, had been previously announced. Head coach Sean Everitt expressed sincere gratitude for the commitment and passion shown by all departing players, specifically praising Watson as one of the finest to ever represent the club. Everitt wished them success in their future careers and hoped for Watson's quick return to fitness. Shiel and Venter are expected to make final farewell appearances off the bench in Edinburgh's last United Rugby Championship fixture against the Dragons.
