Knife attacker injures three women in Paris, arrested by off-duty police officer
On July 27, 2026, a man armed with two kitchen knives attacked and injured three women at Porte de Clichy in northwestern Paris. The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. in the 17th arrondissement. Two of the victims, aged 19, 24, and 36, were seriously injured—one with abdominal wounds and another with back injuries—while the third sustained less severe injuries. All three received first aid at the scene and were hospitalized. An off-duty police officer overpowered and arrested the attacker. France's Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez commented on the incident, noting that the attacker made confused statements and was not carrying identification documents. The motive and background of the attack remain unclear.
