Katie Lam: We can only judge Burnham on his record – and it isn’t good
Conservative MP Katie Lam argues that incoming Prime Minister Andy Burnham has avoided scrutiny by refusing interviews and blocking parliamentary debate. She asserts that Burnham's record as Health Secretary, Mayor of Greater Manchester, and his cabinet appointments (including Louise Haigh, Ed Miliband, and Angela Rayner) demonstrate poor judgment and failed policies. Lam contends that Burnham shares the same flawed Labour instincts as his predecessor Keir Starmer, predicting no improvement in governance despite the change in leadership.
