Jeff Bezos Reportedly Considering Billion-Dollar Investment in FC Liverpool
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is reportedly considering acquiring a strategic minority stake in Premier League club FC Liverpool, according to British Sky News and other sources. The deal, involving an investor consortium led by British-Indian entrepreneur Amit Bhatia, is in negotiations with Liverpool's owners, Fenway Sports Group (FSG) and John W. Henry. Reports indicate a possible sale of up to 30% of shares, valued at approximately 1.6 billion euros. FSG confirmed the consortium's interest but noted a complete takeover is not under consideration. Bezos, with an estimated fortune of $257 billion, has previously explored investments in NFL teams but never finalized a deal. Liverpool has been under FSG ownership since 2010, and a smaller stake was sold to Dynasty Equity in 2023.
