Coinciding with the upcoming release of his band's new album, *Everyone for Ten Minutes*, Antonoff described music creation as an "ancient ritual" that loses its meaning when optimized or automated. He argued that the struggle and human element are essential to artistic integrity, stating that without the actual process of writing, recording, and performing, the result is "nothingness." Antonoff urged those excited about AI-generated content to "drive right off that cliff," expressing happiness to see them leave the artistic community. He further noted that while established artists remain dedicated to authentic creation, struggling artists may face economic hardships due to AI disruption. This stance aligns with his previous comments from 2023, where he expressed concern that AI would negatively impact the commerce for struggling artists rather than enhancing art itself.
