Ipswich complete £20m deal for Ghana winger Abdul Fatawu
Ipswich Town have completed the £20m signing of Ghana winger Abdul Fatawu from Leicester City. The 22-year-old, who played in all four of Ghana's games at the World Cup, has signed a five-year contract. Fatawu scored 16 goals in 100 games for Leicester since joining from Sporting in 2023. He joins Gary O'Neil's side as Ipswich prepare for their return to the Premier League. Ipswich are also willing to let winger Jaden Philogene leave, with interest from Bologna, Roma and Benfica. Fatawu is Ipswich's fifth summer signing, following the club-record £26m acquisition of striker Emersonn from Toulouse, plus permanent deals for Cedric Kipre, Chuba Akpom, and goalkeeper Kayne van Oevelen. Ipswich finished second in the Championship last season and host Sunderland in their top-flight opener on 22 August.
