Iowa Women's Basketball Secures High-Scoring DIII Transfer Bria Medina
The University of Iowa women's basketball team has successfully recruited guard Bria Medina from the Division III transfer portal. Medina, a standout player from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois, joins the Hawkeyes with one year of eligibility remaining after an impressive junior season. Last season, she ranked as the second-highest scorer in all of Division III, averaging 23.6 points per game with strong shooting percentages, including 46.9% from the field and 35.6% from three-point range. Her performance included five games with over 30 points and a career-high 40-point outing. Over her three-year collegiate career at Knox, Medina accumulated 1,524 points. She becomes the fourth transfer addition for Iowa in this cycle, joining guards Dani Carnegie and Jocelyn Faison from Georgia, and wing Amari Whiting from Oklahoma State. With the recent commitment of Swedish forward Ella Strömdahl, the roster now stands at 11 players. Medina and Strömdahl both visited the campus on May 12, 2026, signaling a near-finalized squad for the upcoming season under head coach Jan Jensen.
