Iowa Women's Basketball Officially Signs Guard Bria Medina
The University of Iowa women's basketball team has officially signed guard Bria Medina, finalizing her commitment announced earlier in the week. Medina, a senior-to-be transfer from Knox College in Illinois, brings an impressive offensive record to the Hawkeyes. During her junior season at Knox, she averaged 23.6 points per game, ranking as the second-highest scorer in Division III women’s basketball. Her statistical contributions also included 5.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.7 steals per game. Medina made history at Knox College by becoming the first player named to the NCAA DIII Region 9 First Team and earning the Midwest Conference Player of the Year award. Head coach Jan Jensen praised Medina for her energy, gratitude, and strong work ethic, highlighting her scoring success and appreciation for the sport. Medina joins a notable transfer class for the upcoming season, which includes guards Dani Carnegie, Jocelyn Faison, and Amari Whiting. These new additions will compete for playing time alongside existing roster members Chit-Chat Wright and Taylor Stremlow, aiming to strengthen the Hawkeyes' lineup for future competitions.
