Hungarian Goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi Close to Signing for Villarreal
Villarreal is nearing the signing of Hungarian international goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi, 36, to replace the likely departure of Arnau Tenas. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, talks are advanced between the club and the player. Gulacsi has spent the last 11 seasons at RB Leipzig, winning the German Cup in 2021-22 and reaching the Champions League semifinals in 2019-20. He previously played for Red Bull Salzburg, winning two league titles and two cups, and was at Liverpool without making a Premier League debut. Villarreal began preseason with three goalkeepers; Diego Conde has already left on loan to Betis, and Tenas was left out of the first friendly against Benfica. Gulacsi would join Luiz Junior in Villarreal's goalkeeping roster.
