Hov1's Noel Flike Cast as Sweden Democrat in Election Comedy 'Flaggan'

Swedish comedian and director Michael Lindgren, known for his work with the Grotesco group, is releasing a new comedy film titled 'Flaggan.' The movie is set during the 2010 Swedish election night and follows two young, victory-intoxicated members of the Sweden Democrats party who travel to Rinkeby, a suburb of Stockholm, to hang a large Swedish flag in the local square. The film features Noel Flike, a member of the popular band Hov1, making his acting debut alongside Arvid Swedrup. They play the lead roles of the two political activists. Directed by Lindgren, who co-wrote the script with Tapio Leopold, the project is described as a 'stupid comedy about important things.' The cast also includes notable Swedish actors such as Laura Majid, Henrik Dorsin, and Marko 'Markoolio' Lehtosalo. Filming took place in Rinkeby during the spring, and the movie is scheduled for theatrical release on August 28, 2026. This timing places its premiere just over two weeks before the upcoming general election on September 13, aiming to capitalize on the heightened political atmosphere surrounding the vote.
