Home Depot Founder Arthur Blank Opens Auster Lodge on Yellowstone River in Montana
Arthur M. Blank, co-founder of The Home Depot and owner of the Atlanta Falcons, has opened Auster at Dome Mountain, a new luxury lodge on the Yellowstone River in Montana's Paradise Valley. The 6,000-acre property features 20 year-round cabins, a main lodge with a rooftop saloon, and access to a Johnny Miller-designed golf course at the sister property Mountain Sky Guest Ranch. Blank, who has quietly assembled a 33,000-acre collection of ranches in the area over 25 years, emphasizes conservation and philanthropy. The development was built within the original 1960s guest facility footprint, and old cabins were repurposed as employee housing. Blank's AMB West Community Fund has committed over $13 million to Montana nonprofits. The property is part of Blank's broader vision to protect the land while offering hospitality, reflecting his core values of putting people first and giving back.
