Holders St Mirren to Face Rangers in Scottish League Cup Last 16
The Premier Sports Cup last 16 draw has been announced, with holders St Mirren drawn away to Rangers. Defending champions St Mirren, who beat Celtic in last season's final, will travel to Ibrox. Celtic, last season's beaten finalists, will visit Dundee United. Other notable ties include Aberdeen hosting Dundee, Kilmarnock facing Ayr United in an Ayrshire derby, and second-tier Dunfermline Athletic hosting League 1 side Ross County. Dunfermline secured their place as one of the best runners-up after a late penalty win over St Mirren, which also meant St Mirren missed out on being seeded. The ties will be played on the weekend of 15/16 August. Managers Craig McLeish (St Mirren) and Neil Lennon (Dunfermline) reacted to the draw.
