Freddy's Franchisee in Colorado and Wyoming Becomes Clean Hands Certified
A nine-location Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers franchise group serving Northern Colorado and Southern Wyoming has become the first quick-service restaurant franchise group—and the first company—to earn Clean Hands Certification. The certification introduces a five-part operational standard for public restroom handwashing: touch-free soap, touch-free faucet, warm water, hygienic hand drying, and hands-free exit. Unlike product certifications, this program evaluates the entire guest handwashing sequence. The public can use the Clean Hands Certified app to rate facilities, creating feedback between guests, operators, and suppliers. The milestone will be celebrated on July 31, 2026, at the Timnath, Colorado location. Founder Tim Cromley emphasized that the model treats handwashing as a measurable, maintainable operating standard across multiple locations.
