Florida Gators Secure Commitment from Defensive Lineman Cain 'Big Sandwich' Van Norden

Florida Gators head coach Jon Sumrall continues his strong recruiting momentum by securing a commitment from three-star defensive lineman Cain Van Norden, known by the nickname 'Big Sandwich.' Van Norden, a prospect from Bishop McNamara High School in District Heights, Maryland, is ranked as the 53rd-best defensive lineman nationally. Although relatively new to football, his significant size and athletic versatility make him an attractive target for Florida’s defensive scheme, where he is expected to play the 5T position with flexibility to move along the line. This addition marks the third three-star defensive lineman committed to the program under Sumrall, reflecting a strategy focused on high-upside athletes. With this latest commitment, Sumrall has secured 15 total recruits for the upcoming class, a figure that significantly surpasses the number of commitments obtained by former coach Billy Napier at the same stage in the previous year.
