First Book and Reading Festival Launches at Metropolitan Museum of Lima
The Metropolitan Municipality of Lima is hosting the inaugural I Festival of Books and Reading from May 15 to 17, 2026, at the Metropolitan Museum of Lima in Cercado de Lima. The event aims to promote reading habits and democratize access to culture for children, youth, and adults. Running daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. with free admission, the festival features 18 stands involving independent publishers, bookstores, and cultural mediators. The National Library of Peru will participate with its mobile library service, the Bibliomobile. Notable participating entities include Tinta Fugaz Books and Librería El Cronista. The schedule includes specific author presentations such as Ángel Calvo and Miriam Salas on Friday, Marco Chu on Saturday, and Anthony Choy on Sunday, concluding with poetic recitals.
