Experian Partners with Skyfire to Launch AI Agent Verification Framework
Experian, the global data and analytics giant, has collaborated with agentic AI startup Skyfire, along with Cloudflare and Visa Intelligent Commerce, to develop the Experian Agent Trust framework. This new initiative aims to verify that AI agents behave as instructed during digital transactions, addressing growing concerns about security and trust in the AI era. Kathleen Peters, Experian's Chief Innovation Officer, highlighted that while the company has a two-century history in identity verification, the rise of autonomous AI agents requires new safeguards. The framework applies traditional 'Know Your Customer' (KYC) principles to AI interactions, ensuring that agents acting on behalf of consumers are legitimate and not rogue entities. By standardizing information exchange across platforms, the collaboration seeks to prevent fraud and billing errors, thereby fostering consumer and merchant confidence in AI-driven commerce. Peters emphasized that this evolution is critical as the transaction landscape shifts from human-led digital interactions to agent-mediated processes, requiring robust validation methods similar to those used in anti-money laundering and digital banking onboarding.
