Eray Cömert Leaves Valencia, Joins Torino After Contract Expiry
Swiss international defender Eray Cömert has officially ended his time at Valencia CF, saying goodbye via social media a month after his contract expired on June 30, 2026. In his farewell message, Cömert admitted he had a 'small hope' of staying and noted that both parties tried to extend the relationship but could not reach an agreement. The 27-year-old center-back, who joined Valencia in January 2022 from Basel, played a key role in the club's Copa del Rey final run and survival in La Liga. After loans to Nantes and Valladolid, he regained prominence in the second half of the 2025-26 season under Carlos Corberán. According to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Cömert has agreed to a two-season contract with Serie A side Torino. Valencia's current center-back options include Tárrega, De Haas, Diakhaby (injury-prone), and Copete (injured until September-October).
