Emergency Health Services Alberta Rebrands to Alta Paramedic Health

Emergency Health Services (EHS) Alberta has officially rebranded as Alta Paramedic Health, marking a significant shift in identity to reflect the evolving nature of paramedic services in the province. The announcement was made by Managing Director Les Fisher during a ceremony in northeast Calgary. The rebranding aims to modernize the organization's image and align it with new service delivery models, such as integrating advanced care paramedics into dispatch operations for clinical evaluations and deploying non-transport units for low-acuity calls. Additionally, the organization is piloting alternative transport methods, like taxis, to reduce hospital congestion. The new name, 'Alta,' references both Alberta and the Latin word for 'tall,' symbolizing the high standards of care. The visual identity includes a new logo resembling a mountain peak and an 'A,' along with new royal blue uniforms. Officials emphasize that while the name has changed, the core mission of managing emergency air and ground ambulance responses remains unchanged, focusing on meeting growing demand and preparing for the future of healthcare in Alberta.
