7-Eleven names former beverage executive Mauricio Leyva as new CEO
Seven & i Holdings has appointed Mauricio Leyva as the new CEO of 7-Eleven Inc., the company's North American convenience retail business, effective August 1, 2026. Leyva, a former beverage industry executive, joins from McKinsey & Company where he served as a senior advisor. He previously held senior roles at Keurig Dr Pepper, Anheuser-Busch InBev's Grupo Modelo, and SABMiller, and served as CEO of Mexican dairy company Grupo Lala. Leyva replaces former CEO Joseph DePinto, who resigned at the end of 2025. He will lead 7-Eleven through its 'North Star' transformation plan, which includes remodeling over 7,000 stores across the U.S. by 2030 and converting approximately 2,600 company-owned locations to franchises. The company also aims to open 205 new stores in fiscal 2026 as it approaches its 100th anniversary in 2027.
