Diomande Joins Nottingham Forest; Sporting CP Prepares €20 Million for Center-Back Ibrahima Bâ
Sporting CP is accelerating plans to sign Famalicão defender Ibrahima Bâ as a replacement for Diomande, who is set to transfer to Nottingham Forest. The 21-year-old Senegalese center-back had previously agreed to join Strasbourg but failed his medical due to sequelae from a right knee meniscus injury that required surgery at the end of the 2025-26 season. According to Portuguese media, Sporting CP is expected to pay €20 million for Bâ, who was also on Benfica's transfer list. The deal includes a 15% sell-on clause for Famalicão. Sporting CP will continue to monitor Bâ's physical condition closely due to the medical controversy that led to his rejection by Strasbourg.
