Denis Zanko Joins French National Technical Directorate; Francis Gillot Not Reappointed

Denis Zanko, a 62-year-old French football coach with experience at clubs including Rennes, Toulouse, Bordeaux, and Laval, is leaving club coaching to join the French National Technical Directorate (DTN). He will take charge of training at the BEPF (Brevet d'Entraîneur Professionnel de Football), replacing Francis Gillot. Gillot, 66, whose contract expires on June 30, was not renewed by Laurent Chatrefoux, the new head of training. Gillot had previously coached Lens, Sochaux, and Bordeaux and was well-regarded by BEPF graduates. The move marks a new direction for Zanko, who has built a reputation as a solid trainer over his career.
