Delhi High Court Orders Takedown of Kala Hiran Teaser, Grants Interim Relief to Salman Khan
The Delhi High Court has ordered the makers of the proposed film 'Kala Hiran – The Battle For Legacy' to remove its teaser and all related promotional content within 24 hours, ruling that the material prima facie violates Bollywood actor Salman Khan's personality rights. Justice Jyoti Singh issued the interim order on July 27, 2026, while hearing Khan's application in his pending personality rights suit. The teaser, released on July 17, depicts a fictional character 'Ayan Khan' in a courtroom dramatization of Khan's pending blackbuck poaching case, referencing his films 'Dabangg' and 'Sikandar'. The court found that the content causes irreparable harm to Khan's reputation and goodwill, and restrained the defendants from disseminating the material across any platform. If the defendants fail to comply, platforms including X, Meta, and Google must disable access to identified URLs upon notification by Khan.
