Crystal Palace to leave Danny Imray out of pre-season squad as Wrexham transfer nears
Crystal Palace right-back Danny Imray, 23, is close to a permanent £5 million transfer to Championship side Wrexham, according to Daily Telegraph journalist Mike McGrath. Palace are expected to leave Imray out of their pre-season Como Cup squad in Italy to avoid injury risk as negotiations finalize. Imray joined Palace's academy from Chelmsford City in 2021 and gained senior experience on loan at Bromley and West Bromwich Albion. Wrexham, owned by Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, is assembling a squad for a Premier League promotion push. The move represents a significant investment for the North Wales club as they aim to strengthen their defense with a high-upside talent.
