Crypto Stocks Rally on Rotation from AI Infrastructure; Bitcoin Miners Lag
On Monday, crypto stocks surged as capital rotated away from AI infrastructure and chip stocks amid concerns over circular financing and rising competition from Chinese semiconductor firms. Bitmine Immersion led gains with an 11% rise after increasing its ether holdings by nearly 10,000 coins. Strategy rose 7% despite not buying bitcoin, while Coinbase, BitGo, and Figure Technology gained 4-6%. Circle Internet Group rose 2% after acquiring IBM's blockchain patent portfolio. In contrast, bitcoin mining stocks fell sharply, with Cipher Mining down 8%, Hut 8 down 6%, and Riot Platforms losing 5%. Analysts noted that investors are questioning credit appetite for AI projects, creating a near-term overhang for miners. Bitcoin remained flat below $65,000, while ether rose 1% to about $1,900.
