J. Crew hires former Walmart e-commerce exec Stacey Levitt
J. Crew has appointed Stacey Levitt as executive vice president of e-commerce and digital experience, effective immediately. Levitt joins after nearly a decade at Walmart, where she served as vice president of e-commerce for Walmart.com. She previously held senior roles at Hudson's Bay Company and Saks Fifth Avenue. Levitt will collaborate with newly appointed J. Crew brand president Kathleen Van Nest Pierce. The hiring comes as J. Crew faces financial challenges; the company was identified by Retail Dive as vulnerable to bankruptcy in 2026, and its parent company Chino's Intermediate 2 received credit rating downgrades from S&P, Moody's, and Fitch. J. Crew previously filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in May 2020 but exited months later claiming to be well-positioned for growth. Levitt expressed enthusiasm about the brand's passion and talent in her LinkedIn post.
