Corti Launches No-Equity Accelerator for Healthcare AI Startups Amid Rising EU Regulations
Copenhagen-based clinical AI company Corti has launched a no-equity accelerator program for healthcare and life sciences startups, providing access to its Symphony model stack. This initiative offers up to $5,000 in credits and direct regulatory guidance on the EU AI Act and MDR compliance, addressing the increasing costs and complexities of developing medical AI in Europe. Corti claims its Symphony model outperforms OpenAI on the HealthBench Professional benchmark, leveraging training data from over 1.5 million hours of clinical audio. The program targets pre-seed to Series B companies, aiming to help founders focus on specific clinical workflows rather than rebuilding foundational AI infrastructure. This launch occurs as regulatory pressures intensify, with high-risk system obligations under the EU AI Act set to apply soon. Notably, competitor OpenEvidence recently withdrew from the EU market citing regulatory uncertainty. Corti, which has raised $100 million, argues that the future of healthcare AI relies on specialized teams integrating robust, compliant models into diverse care settings, thereby reducing structural barriers for innovators in the sector.
