Indian boxers Sachin Siwach and Ankush advanced to the quarterfinals of the men's 60kg and 80kg events respectively at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on July 27. Former world youth champion Sachin Siwach, 26, produced a composed performance to defeat England's William Hewitt 4-1, winning four of the five judges' scorecards. He dominated the first two rounds and secured victory despite a point deduction in the final round. Sachin will next face Botswana's Treasure Moremi in the quarterfinals. In the 80kg category, 20-year-old Ankush won a one-sided round of 16 bout against Jan Zalaan of Antigua and Barbuda by a unanimous 5-0 decision. Both boxers are now one win away from securing a Commonwealth Games medal.
