Christopher Nolan Denies Helicopter Thriller Rumors for Next Film After The Odyssey
Christopher Nolan has addressed rumors about his next film project following the release of The Odyssey, his 13th feature-length movie. In a recent interview with The Telegraph, Nolan denied claims that he was planning a helicopter-based action thriller inspired by the 1983 film Blue Thunder. The rumor first surfaced on social media in 2024, before The Odyssey was even released. Nolan stated he was 'bewildered' by the speculation and had 'absolutely no idea' where it came from, jokingly adding he was 'always more of an Airwolf fan.' The Odyssey, based on Homer's ancient Greek epic, stars Matt Damon alongside an ensemble cast including Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Charlize Theron. It is Nolan's first film since the Oscar-winning Oppenheimer (2023), which grossed nearly $1 billion. Nolan continued his preference for practical effects and location filming for The Odyssey, which is now in theaters.
