Chissumba to Rejoin Alverca on Loan; Alverca Signs Akwa's Son
Portuguese left-back Francisco Chissumba, 21, will train with Alverca on Wednesday after being loaned again by Sp. Braga to the Ribatejo club. Chissumba, an under-21 Portugal international, played 21 games for Alverca in the 2025/26 season and is under contract with Braga until 2028, valued at €5 million. He will compete for position with Isaac James and Ikker Julian. Separately, Alverca's French center-back Bastien Meupiyou, 20, has been linked with Galatasaray, with Turkish media reporting he was offered to the club. Alverca hopes to make a significant profit from his sale. Additionally, Alverca signed Giovany Maieco, 19, son of former Angolan striker Akwa, for their B team. Akwa played for Alverca in the 1990s, scoring 14 goals in 41 games.
