Chiefs Star Patrick Mahomes Officially Cleared for Training Camp Practice
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been fully cleared for all training camp activities after tearing his ACL and LCL in December 2025 and undergoing reconstructive surgery. Head coach Andy Reid confirmed Mahomes will participate without limitations, though his preseason game status remains uncertain. Mahomes, who wore a knee brace during minicamp, said he feels comfortable running the offense. During his rehab, he consulted Tom Brady, Tyrann Mathieu, and Zach Ertz for advice. Mahomes is optimistic about being ready for Week One against the Denver Broncos. He aims to reduce his rushing attempts after a career-high 422 in 2025. The Chiefs recently signed him to an eight-year, $504.75 million contract extension, the first half-billion-dollar deal in NFL history.
