Chidozie Awaziem set to leave Nantes for Turkish club Konyaspor

Nigerian international defender Chidozie Awaziem, 29, is close to leaving FC Nantes for Turkish Süper Lig side Konyaspor. The transfer fee is expected to be €1 million, and Awaziem would sign a two-year contract with the club that finished 9th in the last Turkish Championship. Awaziem returned to Nantes last summer on a three-year deal but could not prevent the team's relegation to Ligue 2. He previously played for Nantes on loan from FC Porto in 2017-2018. Last season, he scored one goal and provided two assists in 26 matches. The move follows a trend of Nantes players leaving for Turkey, with goalkeeper Alban Lafont also expected to join Amedspor.
