Calida Group sells Cosabella lingerie brand after sales declines
Swiss apparel company Calida Group has sold its luxury lingerie brand Cosabella to Crown Brands Group, a New York-based brand management and private equity firm, in a deal closed on July 23, 2026. The sale includes the Cosabella trademark, intellectual property rights, and inventory, though financial terms were not disclosed. Calida acquired Cosabella for $80 million in 2022 but struggled to reverse sales declines despite a major restructuring in 2024. In the first half of 2026, Cosabella's net sales dropped approximately 37% to 4.3 million Swiss francs (about $5.25 million), accounting for just 4.6% of group revenue. Calida Group's overall net sales fell nearly 8% year over year, with net income down roughly 12%. The divestiture is part of Calida's multi-year strategy to simplify its portfolio and focus on core brands Calida and Aubade. CEO Thomas Stöcklin stated the sale creates operational and financial flexibility to strengthen the premium segment positioning.
