Ex-Broadway Dancer Indicted for Murder After Shoving Man to Death in Subway Station

Rhamell Burke, a 32-year-old former Broadway dancer, has been indicted for murder by a grand jury in Manhattan following the death of 76-year-old Ross Falzone. The indictment comes after Burke allegedly shoved Falzone down a staircase at a Chelsea subway station on May 7, resulting in fatal injuries. During a brief court appearance on Thursday, Burke reportedly smiled broadly, a behavior noted as consistent with his previous arraignment where he was deemed a flight risk and remanded into custody. Reports indicate that earlier on the day of the incident, Burke had been checked into Bellevue Hospital as an emotionally disturbed person but was released approximately an hour later. Falzone, a retired teacher and kind neighbor known for his love of live performances, died as a result of the push. Prosecutors secured the murder indictment hours after Burke's morning court appearance. He is scheduled to be arraigned on the new charges on June 17.
