Brighton captain Maisie Symonds signs new long-term contract
Brighton & Hove Albion Women's captain Maisie Symonds has signed a new long-term contract with the club, as announced on July 27, 2026. The 23-year-old midfielder, who joined from Chelsea in 2021, is Brighton's longest-serving player with 103 appearances. Head coach Dario Vidosic praised her influence on and off the pitch, stating she is key to the club's vision of becoming a top-four Women's Super League side. Symonds led Brighton to their first Women's FA Cup final in May 2026, losing to Manchester City. She has represented England up to under-21 level and received her first senior call-up in March 2025. Symonds expressed happiness at extending her stay, highlighting the club's growth and high standards. The announcement follows Brighton's plans to build Europe's first purpose-built women's football stadium, costing £75-80 million.
