Bombardier Closes $500 Million Senior Notes Issuance Due 2035
Bombardier Inc. announced the successful closing of its previously offered issuance of US$500 million in Senior Notes due 2035. The new notes carry an annual coupon rate of 5.875%, mature on January 15, 2035, and were sold at par value. The company intends to utilize the proceeds from this offering, combined with existing cash reserves, to repay and retire outstanding debt. Specifically, the funds will be used to redeem all of Bombardier's outstanding 7.50% Senior Notes due 2029, which have an aggregate principal amount of US$750 million. The redemption date for these 2029 notes is set for May 19, 2026, following a conditional notice of redemption issued on May 4, 2026. Additionally, the proceeds will cover accrued interest and related fees and expenses associated with the transaction. This financial move reflects Bombardier's strategy to manage its debt portfolio by refinancing older, higher-interest obligations with new long-term debt.
