Bologna's Jonathan Rowe Sent Off After Hitting Opponent in Friendly Match
Bologna striker Jonathan Rowe was sent off in the 40th minute of a friendly match against Arminia Bielefeld on July 18, 2026, after reacting violently to a shoulder charge from Stefano Russo. Rowe, 23, hit Russo with a chest bump and then went after another opponent, leading to his direct red card. His teammates subsequently lost 0-4. The incident recalls a similar outburst almost exactly one year earlier, when Rowe was involved in a locker room brawl with Adrien Rabiot at Marseille, which led to both players leaving the club. Rowe transferred to Bologna this summer after his tumultuous departure from OM.
