Blade Runner 2099 Gets Release Date and First Look Teaser at Comic-Con
Prime Video announced the release date of the dystopian sci-fi series 'Blade Runner 2099' at San Diego Comic-Con, set for November 25, 2026. The eight-episode limited series stars Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer, with Silka Luisa as showrunner and Ridley Scott as executive producer. Set 50 years after the events of 'Blade Runner 2049', the story follows Cora, a fugitive who assumes the identity of a Blade Runner, and teams up with Olwen, a Replicant nearing the end of her life, in a rebuilt Los Angeles. The cast also includes Dimitri Abold, Lewis Gribben, Katelyn Rose Downey, Daniel Rigby, Johnny Harris, Amy Lennox, Sheila Atim, Matthew Needham, Tom Burke, and Maurizio Lombardi. The franchise originated with Ridley Scott's 1982 film 'Blade Runner', based on Philip K. Dick's novel, and continued with Denis Villeneuve's 2017 sequel.
