UC Bearcats' Quinton Coats Named Dick Howser Trophy Semifinalist

University of Cincinnati sophomore baseball player Quinton Coats has been named a semifinalist for the prestigious Dick Howser Trophy, awarded annually to college baseball's top player. This recognition marks the second consecutive year a UC Bearcats athlete has reached the semifinal stage for a national player of the year award, following Kerrington Cross in 2025. Coats, a first baseman from Olathe, Kansas, has had a standout season, recently breaking the university's single-season home run record previously held by Mike Spina for 17 years. Entering a series against Texas Tech, he ranked fifth nationally with 25 home runs and third in the Big 12 conference. His offensive impact is significant, with the team holding an 18-3 record when he hits a home run.
