Bamberg Basketball Star Demarcus Demonia Arrested in US for Blackmail with Intimate Photos
Demarcus Demonia (26), star player of the BMA365 Bamberg Baskets and MVP of the German Basketball Bundesliga cup win, was arrested in the United States on charges of online blackmail. According to court documents cited by US media, Demonia allegedly used a fake Instagram profile ('Brittany Roberts') to contact a man from Glastonbury, Connecticut, in 2022. After exchanging intimate photos on Snapchat, the victim received a demand for $5,000, threatening to release the images to his contacts. The victim paid $2,000 via Zelle and filed a complaint. Police traced the account to Demonia, who was the sole user. He was released on $20,000 bail and is due in court on July 28. The Bamberg club has signed Trevon Scott as a replacement, stating they do not expect Demonia back for training.
