BAE and NMITE launch RF engineering master’s degree
BAE Systems has partnered with the New Model Institute for Technology and Engineering (NMITE) to launch a new MSc in radio frequency and wireless systems engineering, aimed at addressing a critical shortage of specialist engineering skills in the UK. The programme, initially funded by BAE Systems' Digital Intelligence business for the first two years, will combine academic teaching with practical industry experience, including guest lectures, technical masterclasses, industrial projects and mentoring. The curriculum was shaped by BAE engineers and covers RF engineering, wireless communications, sensing technologies, spectrum engineering and secure wireless systems. Graduates will be prepared for careers in defence, aerospace, national security, law enforcement, telecommunications, healthcare and transport. Applications are not yet open, but prospective students can register for updates. The partnership was announced with quotes from BAE Systems Digital Intelligence Managing Director Andrea Thompson, NMITE Founder Jesse Norman MP, and NMITE President James Newby.
