Babcock Wins Two Awards at Enginuity Skills Awards 2026
Babcock, a major UK defence company, has been awarded two prizes at the Enginuity Skills Awards 2026 for its efforts to develop engineering and advanced manufacturing skills. The company won Large Employer Skills Champion of the Year for its Emerging Talent Programme, which supports apprenticeships and graduate schemes, and New Talent Inspiration Programme of the Year for its Production Support Operative programme, which provides an alternative entry route into engineering. Jennifer McElhinney, Interim Chief People Officer, stated the awards recognize innovative work to build future skills and strengthen sovereign capability. The recognition comes as the UK defence sector faces pressure to recruit and retain technical specialists, and adds to a series of skills-related accolades for Babcock over the past year.
