Assamese film Rador Pakhi wins special jury award at Moscow festival
The Assamese feature film 'Rador Pakhi' (morning sunshine) has won a special jury award at the International Film Festival—Made by Women in Moscow, held from July 8-12, 2026. Director Bobby Sarma Baruah and co-producer Sulakhyana Baruah received the Super Mama Award. The film is inspired by the real-life story of Assam-based writer Sarmistha Pritam, who pursues her dream despite suffering from spinal muscular atrophy. The film follows protagonist Jyoti, an aspiring writer diagnosed with the condition at a young age, and her determination to live independently. Before Moscow, the film premiered at the Indian Panorama section of the 55th International Film Festival of India in Goa (2024) and was selected for festivals in Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Melbourne, Thrissur, and Canada.
