Arsenal suffer shock Morgan Rogers blow as Chelsea hijack deal and Guirassy clause expires
Arsenal have been dealt a double transfer blow as Chelsea hijacked their pursuit of Aston Villa winger Morgan Rogers for a £117m fee, with the player convinced by Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso. Additionally, Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy's £34m release clause expired on July 15, meaning Arsenal would now have to pay significantly more to sign the 30-year-old. Despite these setbacks, Arsenal have already completed three summer signings: Piero Hincapie, Illan Meslier, and Christos Tzolis. The Gunners are preparing to defend their Premier League title and will welcome back World Cup participants David Raya, Mikel Merino, and Martin Zubimendi, who face Argentina in the final.
