Arsenal's Champions League Final Defeat and Aftermath
Arsenal, an English Premier League club founded in 1886 and nicknamed the Gunners, lost the Champions League final to PSG nearly a month ago in a penalty shootout (1-1, 4-3 on penalties). Goalkeeper David Raya expressed devastation over the loss, while defender Gabriel saw his jersey sales skyrocket after missing a crucial penalty. Despite the defeat, Arsenal held a parade in London celebrating their Premier League title, drawing over a million fans. Manager Mikel Arteta criticized referee Daniel Siebert for not awarding a penalty on Madueke. The club, historically led by Arsène Wenger and now by Arteta since 2019, has won 13 English league titles. PSG's victory marked their second consecutive Champions League title.
